To My Parents

To My Parents

I never took you for granted
And knew that in my heart
The two of you would always belong
...But all too suddenly I turned
And you were gone.
How can I ever express the love
That I feel for you in my heart
Love that will never fade away
Though we had to part.
I do not yet know the answer
But I will do what I must do
To carry on as you would wish
And as you taught me to do.
And someday we will meet again
On that Heavenly shore
Where our love will not have diminished
But we will love each other even more.

Thena
I asked the Father up above
How can I be sure I have your love
And then He showed me through the years
Faces of those who had shared my tears,
Loved ones who had stood by me
And encouraged me at every opportunity.
Each time I called on Him
And thought He had not come
It was He who had nudged these friends
Each and every one.
The unexpected love note
That appeared in my mail box
Or was stuck inside my door,
The little fistful of flowers from a tiny hand
Or a big bouquet perhaps a bit more grand
All spurred on by love and care
And gentle reminders in the giver's spirit
As the result of answered prayer
That had silently asked of the Heavenly throne
"Dear Father, show me that you care."
This made me ever more mindful of the gentle nudge
That comes to me from time to time
To do a giving and loving action
To someone He places in my mind.
For now I know that loud and clear
He is reminding me of someone dear
Who needs a gentle touch or two
To let the Father's love come shinning through.
And in a very simple way
Say "I thought of you today
And said a special little prayer
That God keep you always in His care."

It's Almost Christmas

It's almost Christmas
And I'm so glad to say
There will be lots of family
Coming on Christmas Day!

There will be lots of noise
As the kids play together
And lots of happiness
Over the lovely snowy weather!

The grandparents will be smiling
As they hand out hugs and kisses
While they feel so excited
That they have granted some Christmas wishes.

Even the puppy dog and kitty cat
Seem to sense the excitement everywhere
And the sound of laughter
Lingers happily in the air.

Yes, it's almost Christmas
And I love this time of year
It's such a time of sharing our love
With friends and family far and near.

All I Want for Christmas is a Puppy

All I want for Christmas is a puppy
A little Puggie puppy would be nice.
Don't want a kitty cat or gerbil
(Is gerbil just another name for mice?)

All I want for Christmas is puppy
A soft little bundle of cuddly fur
Don't want a turtle or a guppy
A puppy I could take with me everywhere.

I hope that I have made it clear
That I've been awfully good this year
So please put one in my stocking
And I will be so happy Santa dear

Back to Posting for the New Year

With my blog
I've been amiss
But I'm back online
With more of this.
Little verse meant to cheer
Or share with others
Who mean so much
And those whose lives
You hope to touch.
