Mom, as the new year begins
Without you here to guide us
Our hearts are heavy
For it's strange without you beside us.
Your family was not nearly ready
To face the new year without you
For all of us treasured you
And loved everything about you.
But because of your strength and love
And all of the things you taught us too
We will carry on and be strong
In honor of our love for you.
The new year is here and we will face it
Along with the opportunity to be here for each other
Sharing our love with our family here below
