Someone Cares
Someone out there is hurting
And they need a loving touch
They need to know that someone cares
And loves them very much.
Someone out there feels all alone
Not just a bit sad and blue
But someone feels so very depressed
That they don't know what to do.
Someone out there needs a kind word
Or a loving touch upon their brow
And many of us would love to help
But we feel we don't know how.
Someone out there is praying
For a word from God above
That will confirm that He is real
And assure them of His love.
Someone out there needs a friend
And needs a bit of sweet relief
From all the trials they're going through
And needs the comfort of belief.
Someone could be the hand God uses
Or the human that He will send
To help heal the hurting, aching heart
And be the Heaven chosen friend.
Don't say "I'm just one person
There's nothing I can do."
But be a willing vessel
If God chooses to send you.

There's Something About a Boy and His Dog
There's just something about a boy and his dog
That brings my heart pure joy
A dog is a beautiful sight in its own right
But even more wonderful with a boy!
A boy will let a dog lick his face
And share his ice cream or cake
Will let him sit beside him on a rock
And jump with him into the lake.
A boy will roll around in the grass
And not worry if a pup has fleas
Won't mind getting a bit dirty
Or complain about the scratchiness of leaves.
A boy needs a dog that loves to run
A dog that will chase balls and sticks
And you can see the love in a boy's heart
Reflected back in the dog that he picks!

It's Good to be Busy!
It is better to be busy
And have a lot to do
That to have your hands be idle
The whole day through!
It is better to wonder
How you will get things done
Than to sit and worry
About how to have some fun.
It is better to be busy
Even though it can cause a strain
But it keeps you feeling useful
And exercises your brain!

I'm Here for you
I'm Here for you
Just a little note to say
I think about you every day
And know the grief
That seems to fill each part
Of your aching, hurting heart.
But know that it will lessen soon
And for joy again there will be room.
For your peace and joy to returnI
s the day for which I yearn
And oh, how blessed that day will be
When your sweet smile again, I see.

When people make you cry
When people make you cry, forgive them
For they are the losers in the end
They have missed a chance to encourage
A truly wonderful friend.
When family makes you cry
It is really sad to say
There's nothing you can do
If they are prone to be that way!
Just love them anyway
And make it a point to be
Always the first with love
At any opportunity!
And even if it seems to be
A losing battle to you now
You will be the winner in the end
Some day, somewhere ...somehow!
Never rush to be the one
Who has the cutting remark
But rather be the one to rush ahead
To help heal a hurting heart!

My Guy...Teen Son
My Guy...Teen Son
My Guy is fearless
He's handsome and smart
He also holds a special place
In his mother's heart.
Sometimes I feel all mushy
And full of motherly pride
But I try to not over do the praise
And just enjoy the things
I feel inside.
Someday when he's older
Maybe I will tell him how I feel
When it won't embarrass him
When my heart I can reveal.
But now I don't want to ruin his image
And make kids think he's a wimp
Whose Mom is overly mushy or proud
And I carefully weigh the things I say
................outloud.

For Wedding Reception in hot Climate
We appreciate that you are dressed
In such wedding finery
That you are looking spiffy
Is very plain to see.
But after the wedding march has played
And the groom has kissed the bride
It's fine to change into cooler clothes for the reception
Let the thermometer be your guide!

Living Our Dream
Living Our Dream
When we first wed
We had a dream
That got forgotten
Or lost, it would seem.
But suddenly we have found again
The life and love that should have been.
The past is gone and can't be reclaimed
But our love for each other still remains.
How fortunate are we
and oh how blessed
To have this second chance
At happiness!
I pledge my heart and love to you
Each day from now and my whole life through
For I know now what I have been searching for
Was you, my love, and nothing more.

Four Year Old In Heaven
Does Heaven hold a flock of butterflies
That flitter flower to flower
A sweet meadow where a little boy
Could chase them hour by hour?
Is there a special room for trains
And toys that little boys like
Do they have skateboards to ride
And for toddlers, are there trikes?
And when I join you there someday
Will you have aged at all?
Or will my same bright eyed four year old
Answer this loving mother's call?
I do not know if we stay there
The same age forever more
I only know Heaven will be sweeter
Than anything we've known before.
And if I see a toddler
Come running to welcome me home
Or if I see a grown up young man
I'll recognize him as my own!

A Memorial Day Thank You
A Memorial Day Thank You
Thank you to each one
Who has a husband, wife daughter or son
Fighting in a land across the sea
To provide freedom for you and me.
Thank you to those who serve
In our own land or far away
Thank you from our hearts
On this somber celebration day.
Thank you to those who fought long ago
For the freedoms we sometimes take so casually
Those who gave their lives while still so young
To keep this nation free.
Thank you to those who were husbands and dads
Those who were daughters, moms and wives
Who so long ago in our history on foreign soil
Gave that ultimate sacrifice...their lives.
Thank you to each sweetheart
Who kissed their loved one goodbye
And who must everyday watch anxiously
And try not to worry and cry.
Thank you to each mother
Of daughter or of son
Who sent them off when duty called
And considered it a sacred one.
Thank you to grandparents
Who had to watch those they love so much
Go off to fight in a foreign land
And who long for just one more touch.
Thank you to the parents who taught their children
That our nation deserves their loyalty
And the dedication and sometimes sacrifice
If we are going to remain brave and free.
And thank you to God above us
Who watches over us and loves us
And gave us the land that we adore
A land with freedom worth fighting for....
Pray to God that our flag
Will today and always proudly wave
Over our America, land of the free
Our beloved America, Home of the Brave!

Special Moment with Dad and Little Daughter
Special Moment with Dad and Little Daughter
There are some moments
That go so quickly by
But are recognized as so special
That they bring a tear to the eye.
A mommy sees a moment
That might seem to be the norm
But it has a special tenderness
That makes the soul feel warm.
I saw one of those moments
When our sweetheart tired from play
Took a little nap with Daddy
And it touched me more than words can say.
There they were sleeping
On the sofa so nice and snug
It was all that I could do
Not to wake them with a hug.
But I captured a little photo
So that I could remember years to come
How precious this moment was
Of Daddy snuggled with our little one!

Fragile...Handle With Prayer
Fragile...Handle With Prayer
Waiting, we pictured you as a healthy robust
And happily wailing newborn
With healthy heart and lungs of steel
And a definite new born will.
We laughed about who would be
The disciplinarian---Dad or me
And who would hand out cookies and juice
And got got to read you Dr. Seuss.
We packed my bag so long in advance
That I was able to do a happy dance
But all too soon it was time to go
You were coming early and you let us know.
Suddenly we were surrounded by frightful hospital stuff
And I knew it my heart this was going to be rough
.But I wasn't prepared for how tiny you would be
And how very fragile and delicate, my precious baby!
They poked you and prodded you and you were so small
I listened in agony at nurse station call
Was it you they were helping or you in distress
I knew that the doctors were doing their best.
We were so thankful
When from tubes you were free
And you could come home
With your Daddy and me
And as I think back I wondered if that is how to God we seem
As tiny and fragile, each earthy being
And if He holds us in His arms as His will keeps us alive
And through His mercy we grow and we thrive.
Oh, I learned so much much in the days
We spent with you there
I learned that each life is fragile
And to be handled with prayer.

For My Mommy
Everyone should have a mommy
That is as nice as you
A mommy that loves and snuggles them
When the day is through.
Everyone should have a mommy
That will take them for a walk
And who will just have fun with them
And will take the time to talk.
Everyone would love to have
A mommy who loves them bunches
Who washes all their clothes
And fixes them nice lunches.
I know that I have the world's best mom
And that is why I want a card to say
I love you so very, very much
And Happy Mother's Day!!
Thena
I love you Mommy
I think you are so nice
I only wish that Mommies
Enjoyed snakes and mice!
Thena
Dear Mommy,
I made a little card
To show you my heart
And the place marked Mommy
Is the biggest part!
'Cause you are the one
That makes me want to say
I love you so much Mommy
And Happy Mother's Day!

I Love You
I love you more than lollipops
Or ice cream with triple dips
I love you more than soda pops
(Great big gulpy sips!)
I love you more than all my books
My toys and my games
I love you more than all my friends
I won't mention all their names!
I love you more than all my pets
Or watching sailboats on the bay
I love you more than anything-

What Was it Like?
What was it like, Mom
When my Grandmom knew who you were?
What was it like when you visited her
And she knew you were there?
What was she like when she was alert
And able to visit and chat?
Tell me about the way she spoke-
Can you please tell me about that?
I know you love her, Mommy
And I know she was special to you
But I haven't seen her in all my life
The way she must have been to you.
She was my rock, sweetheart
She was my shoulder, my best friend
We had such wonderful visits
That I couldn't bear for them to end.
She was my inspiration, darling
She inspired in me the desire to do
All of the wonderful things
That I want to do with you.
She was the inspiration for motherhood
The one whose footsteps I desire to follow each day
She is the one who taught me how to love
And the one who taught me how to pray.
She is my shinning example of love unconditional
She is a sweet living legacy
She showed me in her life each day
The kind of mother I wanted to be.

To My Adult Daughter in Honor of Mother’s Day
Today I sit and admire my Mother’s Day gift from you
Sent to make sure that I am aware of your love
And I want say that I love you too.
And that even though it is wonderful
To be remembered in such a way,
More important is my joy
That you show me your love every day.
From the time I held you in my arms
And looked into your precious face
And felt the softness of you skin
As I held you in my embrace,
I knew that nothing could ever compare
To the overwhelming love that I felt there.
Your daddy and I took turns
Tiptoeing into your room at night
Ostensibly to check your covers
Or to turn out your little light
But oft times at your crib we met each other
With no other reason than
The joy in being Father and Mother.
Through the years you grew in so many ways
Always bringing us happiness
And with wonder filling our days
And we applauded every accomplishment
As we watched you mature and grow
That we were so very proud of you
We tried to always let you know.
And now we get these little gifts
And cards and notes and such
That are so very precious
Sweet like that first little baby touch
For each loving act of kindness
Was already formed in your tiny heart
And that first sweet baby kiss
Was the first loving gesture in a long line
Of many sweet and treasured memories
That are stored eternally in this heart of mine.
Love,
Mom
