First Time I Saw the Ocean

The first time I saw the ocean
I gasped in pure delight
For stretching out forever
Was such an awesome sight.
I was envious of the ones
Who saw it every day
And marvelled at the confidence
Of the little kids at play.
I stood and looked at it awhile
Not wanting the moment to end
For I felt a sense of belonging
As if the ocean were my friend.

Dear Thena,

Just wanted to leave word with you here and thank you for the wonderful time we shared with you at the Two Peas dinner at the Hilton during CHA. My name is Gislaine Vincent and I am one of the two girls who played that prank on you and who were lucky enough to get your wonderful book autographed!!!! It was great meeting you there and I wanted to tell you that I just LOVE your book. As I proposed, I might be translating some of those wonderful poems in French and will be sure to send them on to you for your daughter to see.

Thank you again for a great laugh !! You are one good sport! Tell you friend that she is one very funny little lady.
